This project is a renovation to an existing 53,400 SF residence hall built in 1967.  Improvements included replacement of plumbing piping, fixtures, fire alarm system, electrical upgrade and addition of air conditioning & fire alarm system.  This building was completely demolished to the bare walls and then renovated to four levels, a penthouse and 110 rooms.  This state of the art facility has new panels, generator, high voltage transformers, a/c in all rooms, WI-FI and wall-to-wall new finishes.


Elmwood Park Amphitheater

This project is a structure of approximately 5,800 SF, terraced seating for 2,000 spectators, with paved plazas and walkways, site lighting and improvement to the park for a vendor zone, a streetscape in Williamson road, and associated exterior work.  The amphitheater will be a state of the art production stage with sound and lighting that will rival any in the area. This is a high profile project that all of the city leaders will be following on a regular basis.  The IES Communications division will be doing the stage lighting, diming and sound for the project.

Renovation & Addition to Middle School

Project Location:  Lexington, VA

IES Location:  Roanoke, VA

This project consisted of one-third renovation and two-thirds new construction of a 134,000 square feet school.  It features geothermal mechanical systems and substantial LED lighting. Construction was performed by every trade group, mechanical, electrical and plumbing, at the Roanoke branch.  One of IES's challenges was meeting the project schedule and building a new school around the students.  IES had to complete a significant portion of the project during summer recess.  All students have new computers, 6 science labs, and a new gym plus auxiliary gym.
